Tour Itinerary.
We will pick you up at your accommodation in Pucón or Temuco, with the mountain equipment already prepared. (Ideally shoe fitting is done the day before).
The car ride to the base of the volcano takes about 3 hours. We begin walking at 1,500 meters above sea level.
Once we arrive at the base of the volcano, the guides will give you instructions before starting the climb.
During winter, the entire volcano is covered in snow. During summer, only 20% or 30% of the volcano has snow, and at the end of the summer, no more snow left. Throughout the day, we will take several breaks to hydrate, eat snacks, take pictures, review your equipment, and talk about the volcano. Your guides will stay with you the entire day.
The view at the summit is astounding – you can see the Sierra Nevada volcano, several lakes, many rivers, and beautiful forests of Araucaria trees.
If the weather permits, we'll have the opportunity to eat lunch at the summit and rest for 20 minutes.
The way down the volcano is a unique experience. Fully-equipped with waterproof pants and a sled, you’ll slide down on the snow! We´ll walk on rocks or snow for the last part. However, depending on the conditions of the snow, we might have to walk some of all the way.
The activity ends with a refreshing drink or beer and a delicious snack that we will share at the base of the volcano. It´s a wonderfull moment to celebrate your achievement and reflect on your experience of climbing the second most active volcano of Chile!
We will arrive back to Pucón around 9.00pm - depending on the season.
